Melrose × The Mysterious Mr Black An Evening of Wine, Mystery & Magic

On Thursday 31 July 2025, arrive from 6 pm for a 6:30 pm seating and settle in under the Melrose rooftop for an evening where mystery meets modern Pan-Asian cuisine. Meet the winemaker himself, Charlie Black son of the elusive Stephen Black who will pour seven limited-release Barossa wines while sharing fire-side stories of the “black-magic” label that began in 1998 with a band of rebellious grape growers.

Head Chef Will has crafted a four-course shared menu to echo the wines’ bold character:

• Amuse-Bouche & Bubbles paired with Small Gully “Isobella” Sparkling Pinot Noir

• Bites paired with The Queen Viognier

• Entrée paired with The Gunslinger Grenache and The Shedonist Shiraz Viognier

• Main Course paired with Baron Von Warbler’s “Pagan Perfume #6” and Cataclysm Cabernet Shiraz
